Name a beehive after someone special. All you need to do is send us details about the person being honored and we will put their name on the hive for a year. We photograph the hive and create a web page, especially designed for your gift. You and your friends can share pictures of bees coming and going into a hive bearing the name of the person being honored. Your gift also helps disadvantaged families in Israel because with every gift, we send two pounds of honey, from our apiary, to poor families in Israel.
Our family helps continue the tradition of beekeeping by raising bees and keeping Israel as the land flowing with milk and honey. We are among 450 beekeepers in the country, together contributing to the 3600 tons of honey consumed every year in Israel. There are some large-scale operations but 73% of hives are kept by beekeepers with less than 150 hives. Beekeeping is regulated in Israel and every professional beekeeper requires a permit from the Honey Council of Israel and is only allowed to raise bees in a specific area. We run a small, family run apiary in Israel. Black Bear Honey is not a big commercial operation — we don't truck our bees around the country or work them to the point of exhaustion. We take pride in our traditions and care for our bees with the least amount of intervention. All of our honey is 100% pure honey, strained to make sure it is clear and clean. We don't heat the honey (that can kill the good things that the bees put in the honey) or add anthying to it

Black Bear Honey is made in a forest in the central region of Israel. Our small apiary allows us to use traditional techniques of raising bees without making our honey a mass produced commodity. Our honey is bottled by hand, the old-fashioned way, and each label is put onto the jar after making sure it is a sufficiently high caliber to carry our name. We take pride in knowing that each jar is "made in Israel with love from above".
Our Bees
Black Bear Honeyy comes from a very small boutique apiary in the center of the country. The bees feed on a diet of eucalyptus and wild flowers. Forests are not normally sprayed with pesticides so our bees live in a bee friendly environment. Our hives are going through the process of regression to small cell bees with the goal of raising natural celled bees, the way they were raised 150 years ago.
